Thrianta Rabbit

Scientific name: Oryctolagus cuniculus

Country / Place of origin: Netherlands

History: The Thrianta Rabbit is a show breed which is distinguished by its handsome reddish-orange coat. The Thrianta was developed in the Netherlands in the late 1930's, and is a cross of the Black Tan, English Spot, and Havana Rabbits.

The Thrianta became an accepted breed in the Netherlands in the 1940's and in Britain in the 1970's. The Thrianta was brought to the Unites States in 1996 and was recognized by the American Rabbit Breeder's Association (ARBA) in 1996.
