I took in three "mystery fish" that turned out to be gold severum cichlids. They had been living with large goldfish peacefully for some time, but they do chase smaller fish, and actually ate a ...

Proper set up is expensive Posted April 20, 2010 21:23
I grew up catching (and releasing) these frogs right in my own back yard. Keeping them as pets can cost a small fortune though. They need both land and water, and plenty of space. Don't expect...

Sensitive and needy... Posted December 22, 2009 22:42
Red bellied piranhas do best in schools. With proper care they can get very large, so a very large (100+ gallon) aquarium is a must. They are very sensitive fish and require a heater and a very...

Feed Carefully Posted December 22, 2009 14:37

A unique addition Posted December 21, 2009 18:04
These are neat fish, definitely a unique addition to your tank. I've only seen these kept as brackish water fish. Basic care (clean water, heater, filter, flakes every day) and these guys are happy.

Excellent way to add color to your tank! Posted December 21, 2009 17:20
I like platy fish because they come in so many different colors, they're easy to care for, and are great in community tanks. They are livebearers, so if you don't want a tank full of them, make ...

Good pets if provided with proper care Posted December 21, 2009 06:57
These newts are pretty easy to care for, as long as you know what you are doing. A ten gallon aquarium is adequate for one or two newts. They do secrete a mild toxin which builds up in the wate...
