User profile: Currently, my husband and I have two cats. Even though I've had a few dogs along the way (and truth be known, I'd love to have a small dog again), cats have been an ever-present part of my life. They are wonderful companions and, depending on age and personality, are a great source of amusement! I've never owned a "papered" cat, and the closest one to a breed that I've ever had is our current Manx (tail-less cat). Other than having a little fluffy stub in place of a tail, Bunny looks like any other little striped tabby cat! She is very vocal and frequently makes us laugh! Leave a comment 1 comment

No-Kill Animal Shelter Posted December 07, 2009 21:16
This is a local no-kill animal shelter that takes in as many pets who need homes as they can. While I have not adopted a pet from them, I have been to the facility and know that they operate primarily with volunteers. They all work hard and take...

Shadow, domestic long-hair Posted December 30, 2008 20:43
Shadow and his sister were dropped off at our house when they were tiny kittens. We took care of them like babies as enjoyed watching them grow up and be loving members of our family.

4.5 3 commentsRickie - Sheepdog Mix Posted February 05, 2009 19:16 Rickie was a white with black Old English Sheepdog mix who I acquired as a big puppy. She had very fluffy fur and seemed to be mostly sheepdog, although she was a bit smaller full-grown. She was a good dog, but rather clumsy and grew very fast into a size that was bigger than reasonable for o... 5 2 commentsMac was brought to my flat by a young neighborhood boy who told me his father brought him home, but his mom wouldn't let them keep her. (Yes, I named HER Mac; it was short for McGovern, the candidate I supported for president that year.) I told the boy I would take her and 'find a home for her'... 0 commentTeddy, the Sheltie Mix Posted February 05, 2009 18:39 Teddy was part Sheltie, and when my parents brought him home as a puppy, he was a big fluffy ball of brown, white and black fur that made him look like a little teddy bear. It was easy to name him! He was a sweetheart of a dog and the perfect size for us. He loved to run around in our big back ... 0 comment Shadow Posted December 30, 2008 20:35 Shadow was a long-haired "tuxedo" cat with a big fluffy tail and a heart just as big. He was one of the sweetest cats I ever owned and it broke my heart when he became so ill that he needed to be euthanized. He was quite the "talker" too! He would usually answer me if I talked to him and was a...
