Spiders

While considered “exotic," spiders are becoming increasingly popular as pets. They are interesting to observe, and learning how to maintain a spider habitat is an educational exercise for children and adults alike.

Keeping spiders as pets has many advantages. From giant tarantulas to tiny wolf spiders, arachnids are clean, quiet, and require minimum space and equipment to own. For some, they may be a bit creepy, but for the individual who wants something different, a spider is a very good choice.

Of course, spiders are not for everyone. All spiders, big and small, can inflict painful bites, and some can also inject painful venom. Spiders should only be kept by mature individuals who are willing to properly handle and care for these amazing invertebrates.
